It’s a delicious Osakan street food made of diced octopus in a wheat flour-based batter. The snack is lightly fried in special moulded pans to make dumpling-like balls which are brushed with takoyaki sauce and mayonnaise. Finally, they are sprinkled with green laver “aonori” and shavings of dried bonito “katsuobushi” or Served with various toppings and sauces, according to one’s preference.

Kushikatsu is a dish of small pieces of skewered and breaded deep-fried meat, fish, seafood and vegetables. The Shinsekai area in Osaka is famous for Kushikatsu restaurants. You have the great number of choices. In the restaurants, there are the dipping sauce set at each table to share with others and thus double-dipping is insanitary. There’s a sign that says “No double-dipping”.
