Tanabata illumination at Kibune Shrine
Tanabata illumination at Kibune Shrine
July 1 – August 15
Every year from July to mid-August, Kibune Shrine is beautifully illuminated, creating a magical summer atmosphere.
The Tanabata Festival is based on a mythical tale of star-crossed lovers. According to legend, Orihime and Hikoboshi are separated by the Milky Way and are allowed to reunite only once a year on July 7.
During this period, the shrine and surrounding area glow with enchanting lights, while bamboo stands filled with Tanabata wishes are brilliantly illuminated, adding a dreamlike charm to the evening scenery.
