Flower mandala Temple treats you with a wide variety of roses, and other varieties of flowers throughout year.


Ofusa Kannon Temple is located in Kashihara, Nara. In 1650, a local girl called Ofusa witnessed The Goddess kannon revealed herself riding a white turtle near Koigafuchi  and began worship of the Goddess Kannon at this spot, and this eventually developed into the temple today. The current main hall was built in the Meiji Period (1868 -1912 years).
The Temple is well known as the “Flower mandala temple” because its rose garden with more than 2300 species.

In spring and autumn when the temple’s roses are in full bloom, Visitors can enjoy about 2,300 varieties of roses and smell their fragrances while strolling through the temple grounds.

Ofusa Kannon Wind Chime Festival

Over 2,500 wind chimes, one of the features of Japanese summer are hung throughout the temple grounds. Their gentle sound with a summer breeze make you forget summer heat. It allows visitors to enjoy a pleasantly cool atmosphere. You can purchase the wind chimes around the country.
