A Shrine, located near the heart of Osaka city to offer panoramic scenery of plum blossom.
Domyoji Tenmangu, a prominent Shinto shrine in Fujiidera City, Osaka, is famous for worshiping the deity of study. The shrine is dedicated to Sugawara Michizane, revered in Japan as the god of scholarship. Every February, it attracts large crowds of students and families praying for success in entrance examinations.
The shrine also houses numerous treasures, including six National Treasures, two Important Cultural Properties, and one Prefectural Cultural Property. Although the main halls were destroyed in war, the valuable treasures remained unharmed.


Plum Garden
Domyoji Tenmangu Shrine is also renowned as one of the best spots to view beautiful ume (plum) blossoms. From February to early March, the shrine hosts its annual plum festival, attracting many visitors. Guests can stroll through the plum garden, which features 800 red and white trees across 80 varieties, enjoying their rich fragrance and seasonal tea ceremonies. An observation stone bridge in the garden offers a 360-degree view of the stunning plum blossoms below.

Japanese plum blossom viewing/ Ume-Matsuri
Viewing Ume (Japanese plum tree’s blossoms) is also popular attraction as well as Cherry blossoms. A festival featuring 800 red and white plum trees in 80 varieties. You can enjoy rituals and outdoor tea ceremony during this period. (February to early March)
