The beautiful hidden Japanese garden in the heart of the city

Keitakuen Garden is in Tennouji Park, Osaka. The garden was commissioned by the 15th head of the Sumitomo family as part of his residence in Chausu-yama. It was designed and built by Jihei Ogawa (a famous architect). He also built the garden in Heian-Jingu Shrine, Maruyama Park, and Sanzen-in Temple.

The landscaping in Keitakuen is both calming and majestic at the same time.  This garden with a central pond and artificial hills in three directions is full of variety. The walking path, steppingstones and bridges are strategically placed, and there are also a tea house, a summerhouse, a gazebo, etc.
