We help you to plan your trip in the Kansai area (Osaka, Kyoto, Nara, Hyogo, Wakayama, Shiga).
Osaka is not blessed with beaches, but here are a few of my recommendations to help people in the area enjoy the beaches, ocean air and cool off with a swim.
“Daimonji Gozan Okuribi” is a famous as the Kyoto summer image. The best viewing spots for Gozan okuribi is Funaokayama park.
Tofukuji covers a wide area and contains two main gardens and the Sanmon Gate is the oldest zen main gate in Japan. The temple is a quieter in September.
The highlight of Gion Matsuri festival is the “Yamaboko Junko” parade. Massive floats are pulled through the narrow, winding streets of Kyoto. See the schedule.
Final preparations are underway for this year’s festival which takes place on July 6, 7th and 8th: Shitennouji temple’s workers are building the bamboo tunnel
Arima Onsen is one of the oldest hot spring towns in Japan. It has a recorded history going back to the 631 published Nihon Shoki, the second oldest book
The 133 meter waterfall – Nachi no taki – is the tallest waterfall in Japan.Visitors will be impressed by the natural power and beauty of the falls.
Amanohashidate, the meaning of which is roughly bridge to heaven, is a 3.6km long, pine tree covered sand bar. Miyajima and Matsushima are also best views.
Himeji Castle is the most beautiful castle and is one of the few that has escaped the ravages of civil war, earthquakes. Renovation was completed in 2015.
You can still have a quick look at Osaka castle from the distance at JR Morinomiya station on the loop line, if visiting the castle is not a priority.
