TThe Senko-sai Festival (船幸祭), the summer festival of Takebe Taisha Shrine, is one of Otsu’s three major festivals. The celebration culminates with a fireworks display as the mikoshi (portable shrine), carried aboard a boat, returns from its ceremonial procession.
