It is an amazing season for visitors to experience the exciting Japanese summer festivals and events. 

Summer 「夏」usually lasts from June to August with excessive hot weather (up to 40°C in many places), and oppressive humidity. June is usually the rainy season for most of the country. The only places you can escape from the heat are the mountains, and the northern island of Hokkaido.

Visitors can find tranquility in traditional Japanese gardens and park with lush green trees.

It is a fantastic time to come to Japan for summer festivals. Traditional festivals are held throughout the year but the summertime ones are the best. They are energetic, exciting and enjoyable along with fireworks. Locals often wear summer light kimono “yukata” at the time.
