Rurikoin Spring Special Viewing
Rurikoin Spring Special Viewing
April 15 – May 31
Rurikoin Temple is open to visitors only during special seasonal viewing periods in spring, summer, and autumn.
The temple is renowned for its iconic view from the second floor of the Shoin building, where colorful autumn leaves are framed by an open window. Their vivid hues are beautifully reflected on a polished black lacquer table, creating a breathtaking scene. In spring, the fresh green maple leaves offer an equally captivating sight. This unique reflection is known as “Yuka Momiji” (“yuka” meaning floor and “momiji” meaning maple in Japanese).
