Mimuroto-ji Temple in Uji is a peaceful retreat just outside Kyoto City. Its main garden is filled with around 10,000 hydrangeas in shades of pink, purple, blue, and white, with a winding path that leads visitors through the blooms.

It is also one of the few places in the Kansai region where you can enjoy beautifully illuminated hydrangeas at night.
