Hirano Shrine has been a renowned cherry blossom viewing destination since the late Heian period. The grounds feature around 400 cherry trees of approximately 50 different varieties, including the iconic Somei-Yoshino, allowing visitors to enjoy the blossoms for about a month each year. During the season, the cherry garden and shrine grounds are illuminated with atmospheric lanterns, creating a magical evening experience.
