Nachi no taki (那智の滝) ,Nachi-katsuura,Wakayama
Kumano Nachi Taisha is one of the group of three Kumano shrines. The shrine is part of a large complex of neighboring religious sites that exemplify the fusion of Buddhist and Shinto influences that is particular to the Kumano region.
The 133 meter waterfall – Nachi no taki – is the tallest waterfall in Japan, it was the original religious site in the area.There are two rocks at the top of the falls that are the guardian kami (gods) of the falls and of the Shinto shrine. Visitors will be impressed by the natural power and beauty of the falls.

Bus : Kumano kotsu bus from JR Kii-Katsuura station on the Kisei main-line to Nachi-no-Taki-mae (30mins, 620yen).
Kegon no taki (華厳の滝), Nikko,Tochigi
The almost 100 meter tall Kegon waterfall is the most famous of Nikko’s many beautiful waterfalls. Kegon waterfall is also a popular autumn color spot. The trees around the waterfall are usually most colorful from mid to late October. In the winter, the waterfall is impressive as well, when it freezes almost completely solid.
Bus : The bus from JR or Tobu Nikko station to Chuzenjiko Onsen (50mins, 1150yen).
Fukuroda no taki (袋田の滝), Ibaraki
120 meters high and 73 meters wide, flowing through four different levels on the way down, Fukuroda waterfall is located in the northernmost part of Ibaraki.There are plenty hot springs in the surrounding areas.
